DONATING TO THE CAUSE IS HELPFUL TO THE PROFESSION AS A WHOLE.
What we do to one we do to the whole.
At United Pharmacy Association we believe that our professionals will come together to help the profession. We’ve come to a point in time where we fully understand WE MUST SUPPORT OURSELVES, or no one else will. This is an important time to harness our strength.
UNITED PHARMACY ASSOCIATION DOES NOT ACCEPT DONATIONS FROM BIG BUSINESSES.
This means we rely on individual donors, and small and medium sized businesses (under 500 employees) for contributions. We are grassroots, starting out small, and forever comprised of the underdogs – the workforce. Licensed pharmacy professionals working on the ground floor to serve our communities ARE pharmacy. The CEOs of the conglomerates that have overtaken our profession are rarely licensed healthcare professionals, their interest is in making money. In the current culture, their interests are colliding with the interests of healthcare professionals – to be able to give safe and effective quality patient care to those who need it throughout our communities.
In addition, the cost of tuition for a student to attend pharmacy school is unreasonably high. This leads to many of our new grads being indentured servants, with debt in excess of $100,000 to start out their career. Any pharmacist that wants to open their own pharmacy is staring down debt and unfair capitalism, as the conglomerates have captured the market, they have pushed out the independents, and they continue to do so.
Right now – as we are starting out – any amount helps to keep us going so that someday we might have a very significant amount of money saved to help those in our profession who have the potential to shine, and who have worked hard.
YOUR DONATIONS HELP KEEP THE ACTIVISM AND THE CONTENT GOING. In order to keep chugging along this train has to have the fuel to keep moving along the tracks. Every donation, no matter how small, really helps the people at URPhA who create the content, the polls, the posts, and keep up with emails, meetings and trending news. Everything currently being done is VOLUNTEER WORK. We would love to get to a point where we can pay pharmacy professionals to work at United Pharmacy Association for a decent wage and help with all aspects of this important, professional coalition.
EVERY BIT HELPS. PLEASE DONATE AND SPREAD THE WORD.
